73) A Witch's Handbook of Kisses & Curses by Molly Harper

The Blurb :

Nola Leary would have been content to stay in Kilcairy, Ireland, healing villagers at her family’s clinic with a mix of magic and modern medicine. But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it.

Complication One: Her grandfather was Mr. Wainwright and the artifacts are lost somewhere in what is now Jane Jameson's book shop.

Complication Two: her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, who keeps turning up half naked at the strangest times, a distraction Nola doesn't need. And teaming up with a real-life Adonis is as dangerous as it sounds, especially when he’s got the face of an angel and the abs of a washboard—can Nola complete her mission before falling completely under his spell?

My Thoughts :

Half-Moon Hallow is a place that all Molly Harper fans know and love.  So it will please you all to know that the Witch's Handbook is located in the familiar and well loved vampire filled town in Kentucky.  You will all be even more pleased to hear that the residents that you know and love are also involved in this book even if it isn't their story to tell.  Plus there are a few surprises in store for people who know all about Jane Jameson's adventures.

The new aspect inside this book, is of course, as the title suggests, witches.  Half-Moon Hallow has had its fair share of paranormal elements but until now witches haven't been a big topic.  So it is nice to see another supernatural aspect brought into the mix.  The way the plot is weaved into the already well known story from the previous books set in this world is actually very cool if not a little soap opera style.  A long lost grandfather and all that jazz isn't too far fetched and it actually lends to the style of the books so far.

I don't wan't to give away any of the great story but the plot is very well through out, interesting and full of yummy moments.  I hadn't expected any less and once again the author has given me a great reading experience that I hope to revisit again sometime soon.   The continuation of book quotes at the beginning of each chapter reminds the reader that this is a Half-Moon Hallow and in a way has become Molly's signature and makes her work stand out even more.

I have read some great books lately but nothing compares to a nice Molly Harper.   The Witch's Handbook of Kisses and Curses is a feel good book with some brilliant characters and paranormal elements.  Once again it leaves me eager for my next Molly Harper experience. The author always gives a good story while managing to keep me giggling.  Within pages of her books I am hooked and can't stop and this newest release is just as magical and wonderful as her previous works.  Colour me impressed and happy.  I may have said it before, and I am going to say it again, I am in love with this author and her books.

Any fans of the author will be, like myself, extremely happy with this new release which comes out this week.    Don't wait for this one to be cheaper or put it on your wishlist for a rainy day, grab a copy asap, curl up with it and enjoy the ride.  I can guarntee you will feel better for it.
